From Personal Experience to Healthcare Innovation: MLSU Student Builds ‘SwasthPath’
MLSU student Himanshu Mahatma is developing SwasthPath to make healthcare services easier to find and access, particularly in smaller cities and rural areas.
GVI NETWORK . Finding the right healthcare service at the right time remains a challenge, particularly in Tier-2, Tier-3 cities and rural areas. Addressing this gap, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) student Himanshu Mahatma has developed ‘SwasthPath’, a digital healthcare initiative designed to make healthcare services easier to find and access.
A Personal Experience Sparked the Idea

The idea emerged from Himanshu’s personal experience and his exposure to different areas of healthcare. Along with his medical studies, he has worked in the pharmaceutical and nursing sectors and has been associated with health camps in rural areas. These experiences helped him understand the challenges people face in accessing healthcare services.
Bringing Healthcare Providers Onto One Platform
SwasthPath aims to connect users with relevant healthcare services and providers through a single digital platform. So far, more than 12 healthcare providers across six-plus cities have joined the network.
The initiative aims to expand its network further and bring more healthcare services and professionals onto the platform.
Technology and AI to Improve Accessibility
The initiative is also exploring Artificial Intelligence and multilingual healthcare information to make services more accessible, particularly for people facing language or digital-literacy barriers.
The focus is not just on finding a healthcare provider, but also on helping users understand their options and reach the appropriate service.
Next Step: Mobile Application and Expansion
Himanshu is now working on expanding the platform, including plans for a mobile application, improved user experience and additional healthcare services.
His broader goal is to make the healthcare journey simpler for people, particularly those living outside major urban centres.
“Making the right healthcare decision at the right time can make a significant difference. SwasthPath aims to simplify this decision-making and access process.”
